Blogging: just pick one

As, a new and indecisive writer, I've decided that I shouldn't try to start and keep up with two blogs at once.

But, I'll continue to do it because I never take my own advice.

This isn't the start of a bragging point, either- like I have two blogs and I have so many poignant things to say that I can't fit it on one blog. For example, this is my blog about "La" and this is my other blog about "Di da". I keep them separate because this is my "Meh" blog for "Nuh" and this one allows me the freedom to "Blah"..

No, the truth is, I had this blogging site first, years ago, and I never used it. So I thought I would start out here, but I had some friends over at "Super badass blog site" (a fake name cause I'm not a promoter) and they love that shit.  SBassBS is good. They are new and up to date. They have more than several x several free templates with which to start your blog and plenty of ways to tweak it. Plus, those free templates, even though they're basic, can be fine-tuned to super attractiveness. I've looked at several of those SBassBS sites. It's hard not to be mesmerized by them. I see what other people have done with these templates they didn't write, and I feel like I could take of the world or at least end poverty for, like, one person. I want to be a part of the revolution, but I hesitate because...

I'm a loyal customer (who happens to not have all the time in the world to fiddle with a blog). Blogger is simple and basic. It may not have all the bells and whistles but it can and will get the job done- you just have to get better at tweaking it's ultra simple design. I also found out that you can upload many of the SBassBS templates to Blogger, but you can't fine-tune them without some html knowledge. Oh well.. Blogger takes away the freedom and responsibility that a platform like SBassBS offers. Here, I can just log in and post without having to mess with all that networking and media and visual handjobs of the other site. All I need to worry about is my content, which is so amazing that its gravitas alone will suck in followers. Like a black hole. Ha. Ha. Ha!

(Hmm..)

So, it's convenient that I don't have any skill with html nor the time to half-ass an attempt to learn. Otherwise I would be wasting even more time making sleek blog pages for my wholly imaginary followers. My daughter would be spending more time than she already does, wandering around our apartment in circles eating finger nail clippings. Because her dad is too busy setting up a blog he'll probably forget about in a few months (you know, the other blog, not this one... I would never forget about where I came from).

So, for the time being, I'll stick with this blog, mostly.

Until such time, maybe several months from now when I've totally figured out that spiffy SBassBS, I will make the switch. It will be like graduating from couch "stonerism" to a connected world of high stakes business deals made in posh clubs while snorting meth in the bathroom. But, it's only a switch that will most likely last several months because, like most kinds of risky hard living, it's easy to burn out if you don't self-regulate (Jesus.. I might be taking this metaphor too far). Also, I don't like being constantly reminded that my [SBassBS] blog is only basic, and I can upgrade for "only $99/ yr". No one wants to be constantly reminded of what an amateur they are, right? Or, is that just my impression? Anyways, after all the hardcore blogging I'll do elsewhere, I will return here. Defeated and deflated.

But Blogger, being a tried and true friend, will remind me to get back to basics: my content. This place is my rock and foundation. Kinda like Jesus. But more real and tangible.

But, not something you should pray to....

Unless you want to...

Whatever.

Alright, that's it. I've done my blogging beginner's blog about blogging and now it's time to empty this glass of wine and go to bed.

Keep it real.
Exactly.
